Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Develop and guide the behaviour of farm animals
  • Diagnose livestock health issues
  • Handling animals
  • Monitor the calving process
  • Monitoring animal health
  • Organize tasks to accomplish the work
  • Perform livestock feeding
  • Provide shearing services to livestock
  • Supervise milking operations to ensure work is done correctly
  • Treat livestock health issues
  • Feed and tend animals
  • Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures
  • Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers
  • Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
  • Maintain livestock performance records
  • Maintain quality control and production records
  • Milk cows
  • Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs
  • Maintain work records and logs
  • Detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock and poultry
  • Perform general farm duties
