*Position Type: Part-Time 0-10 hours per week/Causal*

*Wage: Competitive wages start between $25 - $28 per hour based on professional experience, education, and personality qualities.*
Posting Summary:
Neuroeedback is a technique that presents the client with ?real-time? feedback about his or her own brainwave activity. Neurofeedback is a gentle, painless, and non-invasive training process that has two major goals: first, stabilizing overall brain function by strengthening the brain?s ability to routinely produce brainwaves in healthy ranges; and second, improving the ability of the brain to shift from one brainwave state to another smoothly and effectively and remain there as long as needed. Neurofeedback Trainers provide Neurofeedback training to clients within Pivot Point's comprehensive treatment protocol, guided by our clinical counsellors.

*Duties and Responsibilities:*
* Involvement in the intake of new clients to explain the NFB system and procedures, and to discuss the expectations of all involved (client, family, & Pivot Point).
* Schedule appointments with individuals and families in an attempt to maintain consistency.
* Work with the clients, their families and Counsellors to complete Symptom Inventories, gather baseline data and co-author the NFB related Care Plan.
* Conduct multiple neurofeedback sessions per week with multiple clients including proper hook up, monitoring, saving and analyzing of session data, and clean-up of the client, equipment, and area.
* Oversee software updates and maintenance of the equipment.
* Provide additional support (based on the Care Plan) with the client during their 45 minute session aimed at enhancing the effects of neurofeedback through targeting the same areas of concern using active discussion and activities, if required.
* Strive to provide at least 10 sessions per calendar month for each client.
* Participate in the planning and execution of progress reviews with the family and team after each set of 10 sessions.
* Review all pertinent client related information in the case file before initiating sessions and on a regular basis throughout treatment.
* Complete session by session Case Notes with regards to the progress of the client, and post it to the client's case file.
* Maintain the confidentiality of all (staff and client) records and reports.
*Qualifications:*
* Neurofeedback Trainers are required to write documents following prescribed formats, and to professionally present information to others; assess needs; collect and analyze data; assess client situations, mood, and surrounding context and quickly make changes to the planned NFB session; have knowledge of childhood and adult behavioural and mental health conditions; have knowledge of biofeedback and EEG practice and theory or direct experience using EEG in a research environment.
* Knowledge of the Neur-Optimal System is an asset. Minimum knowledge-based requirements necessary to perform the functions of the job include: Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary; understanding of a variety of disabilities and corresponding best practices.
* Neurofeedback Trainers are required to deal with and effectively communicate with a wide range of people; work effectively as part of a team; schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events; gather, collate, and/or classify data; work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups; build good working relationships; work sensitively
