Features of the Recreation Centre include: 4500 + square foot Wellness Centre, featuring state-of-the-art cardio and strength training equipment, gymnasium, aquatic centre with six-lane 25 metre lap pool, warm ?lifestyle pool? and tot pool with spray features, wheelchair accessible hot-tub, steam room, and sauna. In addition, to recreation activities and programs, there are hundreds of year-round community programs to choose from. About the Opportunity:The Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a motivated and highly organized individual to fill the full-time Out of School Care and Camps Supervisor role. Reporting to the Recreation Programmer - Child, Youth & Family Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Licensed Out of School Care program and licensed and non-licensed camps. This position requires a high level of planning, leadership, and organizational skills. Responsibilities include:Planning and administering activities in the Out of School Care programs and camps Recruiting, hiring, training, mentoring and evaluating staff and volunteers Provide leadership and daily supervision to OSC and Camp staff and assisting when needed with program participants Assist the Rec Programmer in planning and creating promotional materials for Winter/Spring/Summer Camps and Pro D Day Camps Liaise with parents/caregivers Ensure Child Care Licensing Rules and Regulations are followed, and Township health, safety and policies are adhered to Manage program supply inventory and make purchases as needed Oversee program related housekeeping as appropriate Budget - record, maintain, review, and recommend capital and supplemental items. Perform all related program administration duties to include the preparation of reports and correspondence related to Child Care Licensing, participant / family information, staff and program volunteer records, and general program record keeping and communications Our Preferred Candidate:The ideal candidate will have:Must be at least 19 years of age Certificate in Early Childhood Education, Child or Youth Care or Recreation Leadership 18 months of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Strong knowledge of VIHA Childcare Licensing Rules and Regulations Child Behaviour Management skills Experience operating computer programs including Microsoft Office and using computer databases (Preferable) Current Standard First Aid Certification (16-20 hours) Current Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector check 3 Professional References Immunization Records as per Child Care Licensing Class 5 Drivers License Salary: $35.25 - $38.02 hourly (2024 rates) plus benefitsSchedule: Monday to FridayHours per week: Hours vary, based on operational and program need. Must be available Monday-Friday between 6:30am - 6:00pm. Maximum 35 hours per week.
