JOB PURPOSE:The Maintenance Planner is responsible for providing support to the Maintenance department by planning and scheduling repairs and maintenance activities to ensure a productive workforce with minimal downtime, while maintaining a safe working environment. The Maintenance Planner is also responsible for order planning and purchasing as well as budgeting.WHY WORK AT CONESTOGA MEATS?Growing company with opportunity to grow with team and departmentStable full-time hours; no rotating shiftsEmployee referral bonus program (minimum $300 per hire)Competitive benefits package for you and your family at 3 months of servicePension plan and company matching at 1 year of serviceFloater day given on top of vacation daysDiverse workforce; translation of communication materials into 8 languagesDiscounts on quality pork productsEmployee assistance program (financial assistance, mental health resources)Social Committee events (food trucks, gifts, games)BBQ's and wellness programsOn-site training and company provided equipmentEmployee scholarship program and English coursesKEY JOB FUNCTIONS / ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage Preventative Maintenance program (Micromain) including updating of PM's as required and reconciling any outstanding PM'sFulfill all health and safety, CFIA, HACCP, and BRC audit requirements; ensure documents associated accurate and up to dateIdentify benchmarks for reliability and safetyParticipate in biweekly downtime meetings between Operations and Maintenance teams facilitating program changes required to decrease downtimeEnsure equipment certification calibration schedule is in complianceParticipate in purchasing aspects of projectsParticipates in providing cost estimates for the projects; monitors cost against budgetSupports turnaround activities; planning work order timelines and pushing timelines for weekend work and coordinating completion, monitoring costs of actual vs expectedMonitor project invoice costs compared to capex projects and comparing scope of work actual and expectedDaily communication with the Maintenance Inventory Control personAdjust work methods and procedures to meet production schedules using knowledge and capacity of machines, equipment, and personnelOversee maintenance work; assigning tasks and evaluating completion by inspecting and reporting any issues to Supervisors to communicate to teams and escalating to Maintenance Manager where applicableInspect sites and buildings to scope and plan new and ongoing maintenance workLaisse with plant stakeholders responding to all work orders and determining priority and feasibility of requestsHandle all incoming maintenance deliveries including matching purchase orders and quantities, parts discrepancies, and distribution of ordersManage CMMS (Micromain)Review daily work ordersPrepare weekend work scheduleReview and help manage work order back logProvide monthly reports on down time and status on time of submittal of work orders to time of completion (work order compliance)Analyze and identify trends using downtime information to plan execution of preventive maintenance programWork with Inventory Coordinator to ensure spare parts lists are up to date for current and new machinery and are stockedMaintain Micromain work orders; including input of new requests, assigning, and closing out of completed work ordersAssist with optimizing work schedulesPersonal DevelopmentAttend company required trainingRemain current with technical knowledge in areas of responsibilityAttend regular 1:1 coaching/update sessionsQUALIFICATIONS:3-5 years of experience working in a Maintenance departmentHigh school completionTechnical background preferably in mechanical or maintenance fieldsProficient in basic Microsoft Office programs and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)Strong organizational and time management skillsAbility to work in a team-based environmentWell-developed problem solving, decision making, planning, and leadership skillsAbility to read m
