Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Child welfare. Personal and social adjustment and health (substance abuse, gambling, behaviour disorders). Early intervention programming for at-risk youth. Programs dealing with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). Work setting: Community agency. Rural area. Tasks: Appraise clients' needs or eligibility for specific services. Conduct social research. Develop, co-ordinate and implement the delivery of specific services within the community. Implement behaviour management programs. Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients. Assist clients/guests with special needs. Accompany clients to appointments and social outings. Manage knowledge. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Emergency child care first aid and CPR. Mental health first aid Certificate. Understanding and managing aggressive behaviour (UMAB) course. Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Target audience: Adolescents. Children. Families. Persons with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). Persons with an intellectual disability. Persons with learning disabilities. Persons with mental health disabilities.
