Our IT Project and Portfolio Management Specialist works within the Business Solutions Division of our Information Technology Team. This position champions IT projects of all sizes that impact all areas of the City - from our Finance Team, to our People & Culture Team, to our Housing Team and beyond. Our successful candidate will partner closely with our skilled team of Business Analysts and Developers, and will work collaboratively with key stakeholders across all areas of the City to develop and deliver strategic goals related to our vision, standards, and industry best practices in support of business users, department managers, business process owners, clients and other key stakeholders. Whether leading projects, reporting on challenges, or providing creative solutions to meet our City?s project needs, this role is critical to the success of the City?s IT Projects. Our successful candidate will leverage DevOps as well as modern Project and Portfolio Management solutions to ensure timely and effective delivery of projects. The City has also been successfully rolling out transformational hyperscale cloud technology solutions across the organization, and this position will play a key role in continuing that delivery. The City?s digital transformation depends on innovative and robust IT solutions, privacy and security by design, and the governance needed to underpin it all. We leverage SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS to ensure the right solutions are delivered efficiently, and are preparing to deliver several large enterprise-scale opportunities with a focus on agility and scalability. POSITION FUNCTIONLead, plan, and monitor the portfolio of Information Technology projects in a multi-stakeholder environment. Use both traditional and AGILE methods/tools to engage participants, develop concrete outcomes, and track to completion while managing budget and resource capacity. KEY DUTIESAct as a Project and Portfolio Management Specialist for Information Technology projects. Research and analyse the needs of various projects and recommend Project and Portfolio Management solutions to Management. Analyse, prioritize, and curate the backlog of projects, and keep the approved project list as minimal and current as possible. Coordinate the portfolio of Information Technology projects; assign and monitor project work to external consultants and vendors and to other positions in the Information Technology department.
