Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Install built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel. Install or replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles and shakes and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings. Install roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings. Install single-ply roofing system using waterproof sheet materials, such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions. Repair or replace shingles and shakes on sloped roofs of buildings. Repair or replace single-ply roofing systems. Repair roofing systems. Instruct apprentices. Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools. Install sheet metal flashings. Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Overtime required. Repetitive tasks. Personal suitability: Reliability. Team player. Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year. Support for Indigenous people: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people. Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers . Develops and maintains relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses and organizations . Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers .
