General - Job Title: Mid-Level Level Designer - Type: Contract - Level: Mid-Level - Location: Vancouver, BC - Workplace: On-site (3 days onsite, hybrid) - Duration: ASAP to 18 months, with no chance for extension 2. About the job - How would you design and implement highly engaging, high-quality levels in action games? - How do you collaborate with different teams to bring the design vision to life? - How do you use Unreal and proprietary tools to create and debug levels? - How do you ensure the design and quality of your levels? - What is your experience working in a cross-discipline development environment? Do such questions intrigue you? 3. Summary of the opportunity - Client Overview: The Coalition is seeking an inspiring, highly motivated Level Designer to join their team. The Coalition is known for delivering top-quality action games and is looking for someone with a proven track record in level design. - Role Summary: As a Mid-Level Level Designer, you will work closely with the Lead Level Designer to ideate, design, and implement multiple levels. Your role is crucial in bringing the design vision to life and ensuring the quality of the levels. 4. What are the key responsibilities? - Ideate and steward the design of multiple levels from conception to the final stages of polish. - Use Unreal and proprietary tools to create and debug levels. - Own the design and quality of your levels. - Collaborate with other level designers, technical designers, and artists. - Become a contact point for other departments involved in level design. - Implement memorable challenges, combat, objectives, and scripted events. - Participate in critique sessions and adjust your work based on feedback. - Create and maintain design documentation. 5. What experience are we looking for to drive success? - MUST-Have Skills and Qualifications:   - 3+ years of experience shipping at least one Action-Shooter or Action-Adventure console titles.   - 3+ years of experience working on visual game editors, ideally Unreal Engine.   - Strong knowledge and experience using gameplay systems in levels.   - Experience working collaboratively in a cross-discipline development environment. - Preferred Skills and Qualifications:   - Experience with current scripting languages and level editors.   - Experience with game consoles and tools. 6.
