Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Administer programs related to scientific fields
  • Advise senior executives on environmental issues related to the company’s activities
  • Analyze the impacts, benefits and costs of transportation initiatives
  • Conduct research
  • Develop programs related to scientific fields
  • Evaluate the efficacy of air pollution control devices
  • Gather samples of dust, gases, mists or vapours
  • Monitor budgets allocated to environmental programs
  • Monitor environmental non-compliance and required corrective actions
  • Report information to supervisor
  • Study and evaluate chemical or biological hazards and stresses in the workplace
  • Suggest changes to work processes based on chemical or biological stresses in the workplace
  • Establish internal programs within schools, business and industry to promote responsible attitudes towards the environment
  • Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
