We envision a bright future in Coquitlam that we hope includes you!About You / What We Are Looking For We are currently recruiting for a certified Electrician to join our Public Works team as a Working Foreman - Utility Systems. Reporting to Sewer/Drainage Superintendent, you will provide supervisory and technical work in the organization and direction of a team engaged in the inspection, service, maintenance, operation and repair of water and sewer pumping and pressure reducing stations, the SCADA system, wireless communication and radio systems, and the Methane Protection Systems. An incumbent repairs instrumentation, controls, SCADA, wireless communication and electrical & mechanical portions of pumping and pressure reducing stations and Methane Protection Systems; schedules and coordinates the work to ensure efficient operation; oversees capital upgrades of systems and is fully responsible for the quality and quantity of the work performed by subordinates; assists a superior in preparing and monitoring budgets and coordinates and inspects contractor's work for compliance to specifications. Successful applicants will have considerable knowledge of the methods, practices, materials, tools, and equipment used in the operation, maintenance and repair of electrical & mechanical portions of the water and sewer pumping and pressure reducing stations and reservoirs and the Methane Protection Systems, the SCADA system, wireless communication and radio networks. You will also possess the ability to plan, assign, review and supervise the work of a crew engaged in the inspection, service, maintenance, operation and repair of water and sewer pumping and pressure reducing stations.Minimum Qualifications Requirements include completion of a recognized electrical trade apprenticeship, E.O.C.P. Level II Operator?s Certificate, Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection Systems with considerable related experience including sound supervisory experience OR and equivalent combination of training and experience. B. C. Certificate of Qualification (Electrician) is required along with certification or eligibility for certification as a Technician or Applied Science Technologist within the Province of British Columbia. A Class 3 Driver?s License with Air Brake Endorsement for the Province of British Columbia is required.What We Offer: This CUPE position has an hourly rate range of $47.78 - $50.48. The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.
