Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Select, measure, cut, ream and thread pipe. Schedule materials, tools and personnel. Join pipes and piping sections using soldering and welding equipment. Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system. Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines. Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size. Estimate costs and materials. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Standing for extended periods.
