We invite you to use your skills with us and contribute to something meaningful and enduring.The Opportunity We are currently seeking a Mill Operator 6 to join our Concentrator Team in Voisey's Bay, Labrador, a fly-in fly-out operation. Relocation will be required for this role.This is a permanent on-site position, working a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off rotation. As a Mill Operator 6, you operate one of the seven areas of the milling process (i.e. crushing, grinding, flotation, dewatering, reagents, paste plant, and tailings and water management). Additionally, in this position you will:Perform pre-operational checks and operate equipment according to standard operating procedures and monitor equipment and processes.Conduct troubleshooting activities when problems arise and interact with the Control Room Operator and the Supervisor as required to correct.Perform plant housekeeping activities, minor equipment repairs, and support maintenance activities as required.Complete operator reports and ensure that equipment deficiencies and operational issues are communicated to the supervisor.Use overhead cranes and lifts to move operational supplies around the plant.Participate in crew safety meetings.About You Education:Completed a minimum of Grade 10 or equivalent.Experience:Minimum of 6 months of operating experience in a mineral processing plant.Previous experience in Voisey's Bay would be considered an asset.Skills:Basic understanding of mineral processing theory and practice.Familiar with the process flowsheet and with the equipment and its function.Familiar with the safe work practices and standard operating procedures of the concentrator.Detailed knowledge of one area of the concentrator and can operate the equipment autonomously at the completion of the training period.Able to recognize hazards in an industrial workplace and understands his or her role in assessing and managing risk.Able to apply logical thinking to solve problems and "trouble-shoot" abnormal situations to correct mechanical or process problems.Has mechanical aptitude and is able, with appropriate instruction, to perform basic equipment repairs.Able to communicate effectively with operations and maintenance personnel while carrying out duties.Familiar with operating a computer and running Windows-driven applications.What We Offer YouCompetitive compensation including a variable annual incentive planParticipation in a competitive Defined Contribution Pension packageComprehensive benefits package (company paid core coverage, flex health and dental coverage, flex accounts, disability plans and optional insurances)Leave for all of life's reasons (vacation, personal, sick, parental) Work culture dedicated to safety, diversity & inclusion, and career growthEmployee Family Assistance ProgramVirtual Healthcare onlineOnline training and career development opportunitiesRelocation AssistanceChartered flights within Newfoundland & Labrador24/7 access to a fully stocked cafeteria with balanced meals prepared by our culinary teamAccess to recreational facilities and social activities (cardio/weight room, gymnasium, music room, movie theatre, etc.)Accommodations are equipped with cable TV, internet, and unlimi- LocationLabrador City, NL
