Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Group home. Work in employer's/client's home. Various locations. Tasks: Prepare reports or case histories. Appraise clients' needs or eligibility for specific services. Plan rehabilitation programs with offenders. Assess client's relevant skill strengths and development needs. Conduct follow-up assessments. Develop, co-ordinate and implement the delivery of specific services within the community. Housekeeping activities. Food preparation. Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses. Implement substance abuse treatment programs. Implement behaviour management programs. Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients. Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of treatment programs. Assist clients/guests with special needs. Accompany clients to appointments and social outings. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Mandt System training. Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate. First Aid Certificate. CPR Certificate. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Attention to detail. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills.
