James R. Eales Equipment Rentals Limited is a well-established snow clearing and excavation contractor, operating in St. John's Metro Area. The ideal Tandem Truck Driver is a safety-minded worker that has construction and snow clearing industry experience and access to reliable transportation. The schedules are subject to variations depending on the project needs and delays. The ideal candidate is a self starter willing to follow directions closely. Experience in operating heavy equipment such as excavator, loader, backhoe, etc. (non-exhaustive list) considered an asset. *Job Requirements & Qualifications* * Inspects equipment to ensure it is in safe operable condition and any servicing has been completed * Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures * Ensure company equipment and material is maintained, kept cleaned, and stored in a safe manner * Properly reports any mechanical or safety problems with the equipment in accordance with company procedures * Proactively communicate with supervisor and coworkers * Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation as required * Ability to comfortably lift up to 50 lbs. * Must have a valid license (Class 3, 5 and 8 requirement, Class 1 an asset) and clean driver's abstract. * Must have a working cell phone 24/7 for check-ins and shift coordination * Must have reliable vehicle readily available to commute from home to work * Must be available to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays to meet our client expectations. * Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions including, but not limited to snow, slush, ice, freezing rain, hail, and sub-zero temperatures. * Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment or truck driving experience We thank all candidates in advance for their interest, however only those being considered will be contacted.
