Amani Travel Clinic in Vernon is seeking a Medical Administrative Assistant. The ideal candidate will support our nurses with a range of clerical and administrative tasks. We value candidates who are proactive, professional, self-motivated, capable of working independently and as part of a team, and who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position entails working up to 35 hours/ week Monday- Friday with potential for some Saturdays.
*Responsibilities:*
* *Patient Interaction:* Greet patients and manage patient flow to maintain a positive and professional clinic atmosphere. Answer phone calls, handle patient queries, and schedule appointments.
* *Record Management:* Organize, update, and maintain confidential patient records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
* *Clinic Coordination:* Work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure smooth clinic operations.
* *Inventory Management:* Oversee the maintenance of medical supplies inventory, ensuring adequate stock and proper record-keeping.
* *Communication Facilitation:* Act as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies, ensuring clear and effective communication.
* *Office Maintenance:* Keep the front desk and waiting area clean and organized. Manage incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and courier services.
*Skills:*
* *Computer Proficiency:* Excellent computer skills, comfortable with both Mac and PC, and ability to quickly learn new programs.
* *Communication:* Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
* *Organization and Time Management:* Good organizational skills with the ability to multitask and maintain accuracy under pressure.
* *Adaptability:* Quick adaptation to change and new technologies.
* *Customer Service:* Exceptional customer service skills, with a focus on patient satisfaction.
*Qualifications:*
* *Educational Background:* High school diploma or equivalent; Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
* *Experience:* 1-2 years' experience in a medical office setting preferred. Strong experience in bookkeeping and payroll is highly preferred.
* *Medical Knowledge:* Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance processes, and EMR systems preferred.
* *Technical Skills:* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
* *Attention to Detail:* Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in work.
* *Confidentiality:* Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
* *Billing and Coding Knowledge:* Familiarity with medical billing and coding is an added advantage.
*Working Hours (Estimate):* Up to 35 hours/week
