Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Cardiovascular technology/technologist. Work setting: Hospital/medical facility or clinic. Tasks: Operate electromyography and diagnostic equipment. Monitor cardiac activity and record results. Operate electrocardiographs, cardiac ultrasound and other electronic equipment. Perform cardiovascular procedures and tests. Offer mentoring. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists Registration. Area of specialization: Electrocardiography tests. Ambulatory monitoring. Exercise stress testing. Pacemaker analysis. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure.
