Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. Work setting: Sports therapy. Medical clinic. Orthopedics. Tasks: Administer evaluative tests. Assess patients' physical abilities. Assist health care professionals. Assist physicians in the assessment of patients. Carry out treatment programs, under the direction of physiotherapists and/or occupational therapists, to rehabilitate patients with various injuries or disabilities. Follow through on treatment programs with patients. Maintain prescription records . Supervise technical and support staff. Clean and maintain equipment. Assist chiropractor with patient health education. Plan physiotherapy programs. Process claims such as health insurance or workers compensation. Collect statistics. Connect treatment machines to patients, as directed by chiropractor. Assist chiropractor with physical examinations. Conduct research in physiotherapy. Process files and paperwork. Order supplies and equipment. Organize and maintain inventory. Computer and technology knowledge: MS Excel. MS Office. MS Outlook. MS PowerPoint. MS Windows. MS Word.
