Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Hog and pig farming. Hog management. Dusty. Noisy. Odours. Livestock. Work setting: Rural area. Remote location. Tasks: Handling animals. Monitoring animal health. Perform pig littering activities such as clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medication(s), identification of piglets, and castration. Track and report on current feed inventory . Weaning. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Maintain livestock performance records. Maintain quality control and production records. Select livestock for sale. Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs. Maintain work records and logs. Perform general farm duties. Area of specialization: Swine. Transportation/travel information: Willing to travel. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Attention to detail.
