Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Commercial dental laboratory. Independently owned business. Tasks: Prepare plaster models and moulds. Cast gold or metal alloys for bridges and denture bases. Perform administrative functions for the dental laboratory. Maintain and order supplies. Mould wax over dentures set-up. Finish metal framework of dentures. Supervise students in training. Prepare wax bite-blocks and impression trays. Pack plastic material in moulds to form full or partial dentures. Make orthodontic bands from metal and alloys. Polish and buff dentures. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years. Health benefits: Dental plan. Health care plan.
