<p><span><strong>SUMMARY</strong>: </span></p><p><span>Develops and maintains an effective accident prevention program and occupational health and safety program at company facilities.</span><span> </span></p><p><strong>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong><span> </span></p><ul><li><span>Recommends measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.</span><span> </span></li></ul><ul><li><span>Investigates accidents to identify causes or to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.</span><span> </span></li></ul><ul><li><span>Inspects or evaluates workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.</span><span> </span></li></ul><ul><li><span>Collaborates with management to institute control or remedial measures for hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions or equipment.</span><span> </span></li></ul><ul><li><span>Conducts safety training or education programs and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.</span><span> </span></li></ul><ul><li><span>Investigates the adequacy of ventilation, exhaust equipment, lighting, or other conditions that could affect employee health, comfort, or performance.</span><span> </span></li></ul><ul><li><span>Analyzes incident data to identify trends in injuries, illnesses, accidents, or other hazards.</span><span> </span></li></ul><ul><li><span>Investigates health-related complaints and inspects facilities to ensure that they comply with public health legislation and regulations.</span><span> </span></li></ul><ul><li><span>Collect samples of hazardous materials or arranges for sample collection.</span><span> </span></li></ul><ul><li><span>Develops and coordinates training programs designed to instruct employees in general safe work practices plus specific instruction with regard to hazards unique to any job assignment.</span><span> </span></li></ul><ul><li><span>Performs scheduled periodic inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and work practices, improve workplace operations, and control hazards</span><span> </span></li></ul><ul><li><span>Investigates and reduces accidents and losses in compliance with occupational safety and health regulations.</span><span> </span></li></ul><ul><li><span>Communicates, distributes, and enforces site specific safety procedures and applicable health and safety regulations.</span><span> </span></li></ul><ul><li><span>Maintains thorough knowledge of applicable Health and Safety regulations; distributes and/or posts new or revised safety standards that affect the company.</span><span> </span></li></ul><ul><li><span>Establishes and documents regular training programs for all employees and supervisors.</span><span> </span></li></ul><ul><li><span>Conducts and documents new employee safety training and orientation.</span><span> </span></li></ul><ul><li><span>Conducts and documents safety meetings with appropriate staff to cover all activities regarding safety of employees, company vehicles, property, and public liability exposures.</span><span> </span></li></ul><ul><li><span>Provides health and safety working conditions and establishes and enforces safe practices at all times by all employees.</span><span> </span></li></ul><ul><li><span>Encourages employees and supervisors to report all unsafe conditions immediately and schedules or coordinates repairs as soon as possible.</span><span> </span></li></ul><ul><li><span>Encourages employees and supervisors to report any injury that occurs on the job immediately.</span><span> </span></li></ul><ul><li><span>Responds to employee suggestions concerning safety matters.</span><span> </span></li></ul><ul><li><span>Communicates loss prevention information and program status to management on a regular basis and works through management to accomplish goals.</span><span> </span></li></ul><ul><li><span>Develops and maintains a proactive Return to Work Program; coordinates with appropr- LocationSaint-Laurent, QC
