Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Manufacture. Tasks: Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications. Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : First Aid Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Type of materials: Aluminum alloys. Welding techniques: Gas metal arc welding (GMAW). Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Repetitive tasks. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Welding helmet. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Flexibility. Organized. Team player.
