Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Hot. Work setting: Staff accommodation available. Restaurant. Hotel, motel, resort. Tasks: Establish methods to meet work schedules. Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food. Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures. Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation . Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards. Address customers' complaints or concerns. Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage. Must have knowledge of the establishment's culinary genres. Supervise and check assembly of trays. Establish work schedules. Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food. Supervisory Experience. Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff. Supervision: 5-10 people. Kitchen and food service helpers. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : First Aid Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Food Safety Certificate. Safe Food Handling certificate. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Walking. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Personal suitability: Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills.
