*PRIMARY* *FUNCTION*: The Transportation Coordinator will serve as the primary coordinator for all outbound shipments and will ensure optimization of transport and delivery. The incumbent will work with internal departments and external carriers to route and schedule outbound shipments in the most time and cost effective manner.
*SCOPE* *OF* *RESPONSIBILITY*:
*SPECIFIC* *DUTIES*/*ACCOUNTABILITIES*
1. Work with internal customers including shipping, receiving, parts, load planning, and purchasing to ensure loads are scheduled to make specific arrival dates to the customer.
2. Work with carriers to ensure timely planning, pick up, and delivery of all outbound loads.
3. Route outbound shipments to provide best service and lowest cost.
4. Assist with the occasional inbound freight request, provide the best service and lowest cost.
5. Utilize tools including Microsoft Outlook, Access, Excel, SAP and outside Carrier/Customer websites/portals to track outbound shipments.
6. Analyze outbound freight to determine where cost savings can occur and present findings.
7. Troubleshoot lanes that encounter service issues.
8. Maintain and track freight claims with carriers.
9. Assist with management and maintenance of our CHEP pallet programs
10. Support Transportation Operations by creating and publishing regular Key Performance Indicator reports.
11. Work on projects to improve and optimize logistics processes.
12. Completes and Assist in the development of monthly financial reporting and measurements for the transportation department.
13. Assist with transportation contracts.
14. Proactively identify transportation savings opportunities.
15. Help implement, maintain, and analyze databases and other computer tools.
16. Help develop and maintain process and procedural manuals.
17. Serve as the after-hours point of contact for urgent outbound shipment needs.
18. Perform other activities as needed or as directed.
*BASIC* *QUALIFICIATIONS*:
· High School Diploma or GED
· Minimum of 1 year of related work Experience
*ADDITIONAL* *QUALIFICATIONS*:
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Access
· Excellent communication and multi-tasking skills
· Ability to work under date/time driven deadlines
· Strong customer orientation and sense of urgency
· Demonstrated ability to solve problems independently
· Ability to work on-call for after-hours and weekend shipment requests
· Knowledge of TMS, preferably Logility
· Experience with ASI

Pay: $47,200.00-$59,000.00 per year
