*AVANTIS NORTH AMERICA INC.* Business address: 222 Bay Street, Suite 3000, Toronto *Job title:* Welder *Location of Work: *Various regions British Columbia *About the Role:* As Welder, you will be responsible for the following duties: * Set up of job site * Study and Understand relevant Piping Design Drawings, such as Piping & Instrument Diagrams, Isometric Drawings & Piping Arrangement Drawings and apply them to a physical output / representation * Identify correct materials and prefabricated piping spools as detailed within drawings * Set up of welding machine, gas connections, etc. * Reviewing and accepting material preparation (cutting/bevelling) to ensure successful welding fusion (in accordance with approved procedures detailed below) * Operate manual / semi-automatic welding machines to ensure successful fusion of required materials, whilst using appropriate filler metals in accordance with company approved welding procedure specification sheet (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) for the following processes: Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Flux-cored Arc Welding (FCAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) * Clean up of job area. Project-based, three years Normal working hours are eleven (11) hours per day, with 1-hour break for lunch (which shall be unpaid), for a total of seventy-seven (77) hours of work per week. You will be required to work an alternating schedule depending on the project, generally 8 to 10 weeks of work followed by a rest period, to be agreed between you and our company. *Skills requirements:* One-year experience as welder working on vessels. Demonstrated ability as a welder.
