Reporting to the H&S Manager, the Health & Safety Advisor, based in London, will be responsible for helping to promote and champion a positive Health & Safety culture at our plant and across our construction sites. *What we offer:* * Complete Benefits Program (health, dental, and vision) from day 1; * Employer matching RRSP up to 4%; * Annual wage increases and bonus; * 4 weeks vacation; * Mileage reimbursment; * Tuition reimbursement; * Telemedicine program and employee care services; * $600 annually towards physical activity; * 5 sick days *Main Job Responsibilities:* * Organize and support the completion of inspections, hazard assessments, toolbox talks, pre-shift Inspections, and preventative maintenance logs; * Update the shop team with health and safety issues and inspections / audits findings in a timely manner; * Collaborate with the operations teams to determine corrective actions for identified hazards; * Ensure completion of the annual Health and Safety Improvement Plan (HSIP); * Meet COR certification requirements and maintain the certification; * Assist in the reporting and investigation processes for all incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine corrective actions; * Ensure Incident claims and Early and Safe Return to Work Programs are managed in a timely manner; * Ensure incident data is up to date and that all reporting requirements are met; * Participate in maintaining and updating the company's Health & Safety management program; * Organize, track, and facilitate safety training for workers; * Conduct orientations for new employees and annual refreshers; * Ensure training is up to date and the training and skills matrix is maintained; * Track and monitor company performance of H&S incident statistics and KPIs, identify trends, and provide recommendations to operations; * Facilitate completion of ongoing corrective action items in a timely manner; * Notify all relevant parties of H&S incidents, updates, and investigation or inspection results; * Organize and minute monthly JHSC and regular safety meetings; * Participate in the development of safe work practices; * Carry out daily shop tours and audit H&S performance of assigned facilities monthly; * Provide ongoing support to the AGF Rebar H&S Team with training, troubleshooting, and implementation of Sitedocs H&S Software; * Participate in H&S and Operations meetings and complete action items as assigned; * All other duties as assigned by their supervisor. *Qualifications:* * Diploma in health and safety or a related field; * 2-3 years of experience in the construction or manufacturing industry; * Understanding of current Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and Regulations; * Ability to travel to construction sites in the region; * Proactive & dynamic attitude focused on delivering results; * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment; * Excellent written and verbal communication skills; * Must be able to multitask and meet deadlines as required; * Proficiency with all Microsoft Applications (i.e., Word, Excel) and Google Suite; _The AGF Group welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities, visible minorities and women.
