Tiger Tool International Inc., a leading manufacturer of specialized tools for heavy-duty vehicles, is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. As a key member of the accounting team, the Accounting Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company?s financial records. This position is responsible for the timely and precise processing of invoices, managing both accounts payable and receivable functions, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. The Accounting Specialist will also assist in monthly and annual reporting, financial analysis, and other accounting-related tasks under the supervision of the Senior Accountant. *Key Responsibilities:* * *Bank Reconciliations*: Complete monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts, ensuring that discrepancies are identified and resolved. * *Journal Entries*: Prepare and post adjusting journal entries as directed by the Senior Accountant to ensure accuracy in financial records. * *Capital Asset Management*: Assist with maintaining the capital asset schedule and posting amortization entries in accordance with the company?s asset policies. * *Monthly Financial Reporting*: Collaborate in the preparation and completion of monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls. * *Data Integrity & Record Keeping*: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring that documentation is filed properly and in compliance with legal and company requirements. * *General Bookkeeping*: Provide general bookkeeping support for a group of related companies, ensuring consistency in financial reporting across entities. * *Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Tracking*: Assist in tracking and reporting on departmental KPIs, contributing to the analysis of performance and identifying areas for improvement. * *Government Filings*: Support the accounting team with government filings, including but not limited to GST, PST, and WCB returns, ensuring all deadlines are met. * *Financial Analysis & Projects*: Participate in various financial analysis projects, providing support in the gathering and interpretation of financial data as needed. * *Accounts Payable and Receivable* Assist and provide coverage for AP and AR transactions with a high level of accuracy. * *Cross-Departmental Collaboration*: Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless financial processes and foster a collaborative working environment. * *Clean & Organized Work Environment*: Actively contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient working environment, promoting operational effectiveness. * *Continuous Improvement & Professionalism*: Demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to support other members of the accounting team and participate in ongoing training and development. * *Additional Responsibilities*: Assist with other accounting-related tasks and special projects as directed by the Senior Accountant or management, adapting to the evolving needs of the department. *Additional Requirements:* * *Software Proficiency*: * Familiarity with *Sage 50 Canadian Edition* is an asset. * Knowledge of *Global Shop* or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) software is advantageous. * *Multi-Company Experience*: Experience with inter-company and multi-currency transactions considered an asset. * *Attention to Detail*: Must have strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting. * *Communication Skills*: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. * *Problem-Solving Skills*: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner.
