*Main duties*
* Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget
* Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates
* Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established schedules
* Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status
* Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
* Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
* Adhere to legal regulations, building and safety codes, and other requirements
* Represent company on matters such as business services and union contracts negotiation
* Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients
* Direct the purchase of building materials and land acquisitions
* Hire and supervise the activities of subcontractors and subordinate staff.
* Provide direction to general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors when doing groundwork to ensure that quality standards are being met
* Liaise with engineers, architects, and others working on a project
* Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory
* Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licences
* Visit sites regularly during construction
* Procuring and allocating resources to ensure there is no shortage while avoiding any unnecessary delays caused by management decisions
*Employment requirements*
* A university degree in civil engineering or a college diploma in construction technology is required.
* A master's degree in project management is an addon.
* 3-5 years of experience in the construction industry, including experience as a construction supervisor or field superintendent.
* Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
* Understanding of all facets of the construction process
* Competent in conflict and crisis management
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
