We're seeking a Parks Manager who will drive efficiency, ensure quality, and manage resources for exceptional service in the Parks & Recreation department. This role oversees urban forestry, parks operations, and key community assets, making a lasting impact on our city's green spaces.Your key responsibilitiesOversee parks operations, including horticulture, arboriculture, irrigation, turf management, park facilities, campgrounds, and cemeteries, ensuring efficient use of resources and maintaining high- quality standards. Lead and develop a dedicated team, including the Superintendent of Parks Operations, Parks Technician, and Urban Forestry Foreperson, to foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and accountability. Implement efficiency and productivity reviews, making proactive changes to enhance operations and meet evolving community and environmental needs. Maintain exceptional customer service standards for both internal teams and the public through clear and consistent communication. Manage budgets, recruit new talent, and allocate resources to ensure sustainable growth while achieving compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.What you bringA people-centered leadership approach, inspiring teams through mentorship and support, promoting morale and growth. A minimum of seven years in parks operations, including at least four years in a supervisory role. A valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
