*Overview*
We are growing construction company seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead our finance department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company as well as its subsidiary companies, ensuring accurate reporting, and maintaining compliance with financial regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as proficiency in various accounting software. The Financial Controller will play a critical role in bookkeeping, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
*Duties*
* Manage all aspects of financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
* Full cycle accounting and bookkeeping entries
* Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes to ensure timely collection and payment of invoices.
* Conduct account reconciliation to maintain accuracy in financial records.
* Prepare budgets and forecasts to guide the company's financial planning and resource allocation.
* Supervise payroll processes to ensure accurate and timely compensation for employees.
* Utilize accounting software, QuickBooks Online for efficient financial management.
* Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that support operational decisions.
* Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations governing financial practices.
*Skills*
* Proficiency in accounting software including QBO and other relevant tools.
* Strong knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll processing, budgeting, and account reconciliation.
* Bachelor?s degree in accounting or finance with a CPA (CA, CMA, CGA) designation.
* 5-10 years experience in an accounting role, preference given for hands on experience with a mid size organization.
* Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate financial reporting.
* Ability to work collaboratively across departments while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
* Exceptional communication skills to convey complex financial information clearly to stakeholders.
