Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer. Office of health care professional. Medical clinic. Hospital/medical facility or clinic. Physician's office. Private practice. Tasks: Administer evaluative tests. Administer eye drops, ointments and medications as directed by ophthalmologists. Assist physicians in the assessment of patients. Maintain prescription records . Operate ophthalmic testing and measuring instruments. Record test results and medications given by ophthalmologists. Clean and maintain equipment. Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies. Process files and paperwork. Schedule and confirm appointments. Take patients' general medical and ophthalmic history. Area of specialization: Ophthalmology. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Child welfare check. Immunization records. Basic security clearance. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Combination of sitting, standing, walking.
