Temporary Psychotherapist <p> Term: December 2024- December 2025 <p> <p>The WECDSB is currently recruiting for the position of Temporary- Psychotherapist. Reporting to the Superintendent of Education K-212 and Mental Health Lead, the psychotherapist will provide the following services/support to our secondary schools: <p> <p>Duties/Responsibilities: <p><p> Help foster a mentally healthy school environment<p> Provide brief, solution focused counselling (individual or group sessions)<p> Conduct thorough assessments of students' current mental health programs, needs and goals<p> Crisis intervention support as needed<p> Build capacity of school personnel to respond to students presenting with mild mental health concerns<p> Follow established protocols (suicide, safe schools, bereavement, trauma-response)<p> Attend transition meetings and provide support to students returning from community agencies <p> Coordinate services with multi-disciplinary Board team<p> Work with the Special Education Coordinators and the Mental Health Lead<p> Be available to principals and vice-principals to provide coaching in crisis situations<p> Develop proactive interventions (groups) once student based needs have been identified<p><p>Qualifications: <p><p> A Bachelors or Masters degree in clinical, counseling with a focus on children and adolescents<p> A member of the Ontario College of Social Worker and Social Service Workers, the College of Psychologists of Ontario or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario<p> A valid Ontario Driver's License and access to a vehicle<p> Experience working with youth from diverse backgrounds<p> Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in teams as well as independently<p> Strong interpersonal and communication skills<p><p>The following would be considered an asset: <p><p> Experience in the education system<p> Group facilitation skills<p> A.S.I.S.T and/or SafeTALK training or similar experience<p> Familiarity with Google Applications <p><p>_____________________________ __________________________________________________ <p>Applications must be received via Apply to Education website on or before November 7, 2024 at 12:00pm.
