Diesel Electric Services , is a division of Mansour Canadian Rail. Our specialized workforce provides support to all Class 1 and Short-line railways. Our Motive power team provides several services for locomotives and track equipment. We are currently looking for an *Welder* to join our team! *Duties and Responsibilities:* * Interpret job work orders to perform required repairs; the focus is providing a complete, accurate, realistic, and timely repair to our customers * Coordinate and complete repairs in an efficient manner and within assigned hours * Notify the supervisor of any materials and/or equipment required to ensure the completion of job tasks * Communicate and interact with crew members and the supervisor daily * Follow all safety rules, keep the work area clean, and comply with all GRS Environmental Health and Safety Policies. * Ensure AAR, GRS, and customer quality assurance standards are met * Other duties as assigned including special projects *Qualifications and Requirements* * Ability to read and write English at a high school level * *Ontario driver?s license with a clean driver?s abstract.* * *Must be able to pass all required training, background check, and drug & alcohol testing.* * CWB x 1 certified with good mechanical skills may also be considered * Able to work safely around heavy equipment and on top of and under railcars, and railroad tracks * Must work in all types of weather conditions * Mechanical aptitutde would be considered a asset * Ability to independently establish work tasks to successfully meet expectations and scheduling deadlines * Perform/ prioritize multiple tasks with attention to details * Ability to follow oral and written instructions including basic blueprints and schematics * Ability to follow work orders * Able to work at heights/ confined spaces is required * Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to steel-toed boots, eye protection, earplugs, gloves, hot work PPE, and fall protection gear Diesel Electric Services is an equal opportunity employer.
