Our mission is to work with our educational partners to inspire engaged, compassionate, resilient lifelong learners and cultivate a collaborative community together.<p>We invite applications for the temporary position of: <p> <p><p><p> 0.30 FTE Online Learning Teacher: International Languages 11 & 12<p> <p> <p><p><p> Oral, written and cultural fluency (mastery level) in two or more modern languages beyond English<p> Recent, substantive experience, training and education related to the design and instruction of modern languages within an online<p> learning environment at the elementary and secondary school level<p> Experience working with the delivery of modern languages through Rosetta Stone and Brightspace<p> Advanced skills in maintaining an online classroom, digital portfolios, blogs, and websites<p> Advanced skills in supporting assessment for learning (AFL) assessment practices and documentation for students, parents and<p> educators<p> A portfolio of recently designed successful, online learning courses<p> Dedication and experience developing and implementing online learning platforms within the modern languages portfolio<p> (Brightspace, Skype, Google Hangouts, Collaborate, Zoom, Teams) to enhance student learning<p><p><p> <p>Navigate/NIDES teachers guide successful learning by providing personalized, online learning courses using diverse instructional<p>technology. Navigate teachers commit to working online and face-to-face with students, colleagues and parents. Teachers actively research, develop and maintain advanced online curriculum and support blended instruction in classrooms, learning centers, and<p>through tutorials. They teach multi-age groups of students province wide & work onsite at a Comox Valley School.<p>The successful candidate will demonstrate:<p><p> Ability to create and manage online courses, assignments, assessments and resources incorporating current pedagogical<p> frameworks (i.e. project based, personalized) <p> Ability to work with and provide tutorial support for students online and in person<p> Ability to support students with course adaptations and I.E.P.s<p> Ability to utilize the following online tools: Brightspace (or equivalent online learning management system), MyEd, Seesaw,<p> Mathletics, Learning A-Z, Zoom, Teams<p><p>Our educational team is committed to engaging learners to develop creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, communication and social competencies.
