*PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY*
*Position:* Custodian
*Hours of Employment: * 25 hours per week (hours of work to be determined; evenings & weekends required)
(Possibility of extension to up to 35 hours per week)
*Location of Employment: *Kamloops, which is located within the unceded Secwepemc?uluw, specifically within the catchment of Tk?emlups te Secwepemc.
*Reports to: *LMO Office Manager & Kikékyelc Manager of Operations
*Position Overview:*
The Custodian is responsible for performing all janitorial services for the common areas of all LMO office spaces within Kamloops, including LMO Main Office, Wahkootowin Centre, Michif Early Years Centre, and Kikékyelc: A Place of Belonging apartment building. Key responsibilities of the Custodian include:
* Oversees the overall cleanliness of the common areas of the offices and Kikékyelc to ensure clients/tenants and guests experience an environment that demonstrates pride, respect, and care.
* Clean all floors of the common areas of the buildings by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
* Cleans all glass doors and windows in all common areas.
* Empty all trash cans, replace liners, and clean receptacles.
* Service, sanitize and supply restrooms.
* Restock and order supplies in restrooms, break rooms and common areas.
* Dusting and polishing office furniture, blinds, file cabinets, machines and equipment located in the common areas.
* Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves and refrigerators in communal kitchen and meeting rooms
* Washes windowsills and windows using both step and extension ladders.
* Proper labeling, dilution, and use of all chemicals
* Always wears proper personal protective equipment.
* Maintain janitor closets in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
* Assists with the preparation of suites for new tenants at Kikékyelc.
* Maintains a written log and proper documentation of all janitorial tasks and supplies needed and tasks completed.
* Maintains equipment in a clean, safe, and operational condition.
* Supports client participation in completing janitorial tasks.
* Performs other duties as required and as directed by management.
Qualifications:
* Demonstrated experience of a minimum of two years related work experience.

* Highly detailed orientated
* Initiative - takes the initiative to identify more effective and efficient practices.
* Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
* Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and able to develop an effective schedule to manage all duties.
* Ability to work independently.
* Relationship Building - develops strong, respectful and cooperative relationships.
* Supports respectful relationships with Elders-in-Residence.
* Completes documentation and reports in accordance with reporting requirements.
* Works as a positive and supportive member of our Michif Team.
*Working Conditions:*
* Potential for violence in the workplace
* Ability to perform the requirements of the job which may include working independently with Indigenous youth at times to assist with repairs.
* Supervision received ? directive and regular review of the work performed will be completed.
*Conditions of Employment:*
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a clear Criminal Records Check
* Must consent to a Prior Contact Check
* Must possess and maintain a valid BC Driver?s License

*Compensation:*
* Classification: Janitor (Grid 3) of the BCGEU Indigenous Services Collective Agreement with full benefits package following successful completion of three-month probation period.
* BCGEU Indigenous Service Employees are entitled to receive a retention bonus at the end of each fiscal year (until expiration of current collective agreement).
* LMO Employees receive an annual wellness stipend following a successful probation.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $21.72-$24.87 per hour
