Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Motor vehicles. Work setting: Courier company. Various locations. Delivery and courier service. Tasks: Deliver and pick up messages, parcels, and other items by hand. Operate and drive automobiles, vans and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products. Professionalism in customer service. Accept payment or invoices for items delivered. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Keep a record of items received and delivered. Load and unload goods. Sort packages for delivery. Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Deliver goods to customers. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks and other 2-axle vehicles). Transportation/travel experience: Local. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Overtime required. Weight handling: More than 45 kg (100 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Cellular phone. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Flexibility. Judgement. Organized. Reliability. Team player. Accurate. Dependability. Excellent oral communication. Initiative. Punctuality.
