Through daily online coverage and email newsletters, _Strategy_ covers news, trends, innovation and research from across Canadian marketing, to keep advertisers informed about the industry they work in. By offering daily news and analysis on where the industry is moving to a deeply engaged audience of marketing professionals and ad agency executives, _Strategy_ keeps readers up to speed on Canada's brands, all through a business reporting lens. The broader _Strategy_ brand also includes an influential portfolio of conferences, forums and award programs, as well as work with its sister site _Media In Canada_, which covers the media, advertising and technology industries. strategyonline.ca mediaincanada.com *Job Description* We?re looking for a News Editor to join the _Strategy_ team to plan, assign and edit daily stories, and distribute the publication?s email newsletter. The News Editor will work with other editors and reporters to identify the issues, trends and ideas that would be most relevant to our readers. The News Editor will also be tasked with generating short- and long-term story ideas, including developing enterprise story ideas and coordinating comprehensive coverage, as well as personally contributing stories to _Strategy_?s daily digital coverage and to its print product, planning the daily lineup for _Strategy_?s newsletter, managing reporters by assigning stories and editing their work, expanding _Strategy_?s scope of coverage and contributing at times to _Media in Canada_. This is a full-time position at a leading business publication and events company. The _Strategy_ and _Media in Canada_ teams are currently working in a hybrid model, splitting our time between working from home and two days per week in our downtown Toronto office. *Qualifications* * Two or more years experience working as an editor at a news outlet * Experience in business journalism would be an asset * Demonstrated ability to manage a daily news lineup and beat coverage, including generating story ideas, research, assigning stories and editing * Clever and authoritative editorial voice, strong editorial standards and sound news judgement * Adept at using CP Style, with an eye for detail and copy consistency * Strong time management and organizational skills * Ability to establish and maintain key editorial relationships with executive-level contacts and sources * Comfortable working with a small editorial team *Compensation* * Competitive salary, commensurate with experience level * Health benefits, including dental, vision and mental health, as well as basic life insurance and long-term disability * Two weeks of paid vacation to start, along with several bonus days off annually * Membership in corporate perk and discount programs _Brunico Communications Ltd. is committed to building a diverse workforce representative of the communities we serve.
