Do you have a passion for both Montessori and traditional educational approaches? We are looking for a dedicated and nurturing Grade 2/3 Teacher to join our team. Our school blends Montessori philosophy with conventional teaching methods, offering students a comprehensive, balanced education in a small, multi-age classroom environment. Pathways Academy and Early Learning Centre has been a cornerstone of quality education in the Niagara Region for over 20 years. With our unique mix of Montessori and traditional techniques in a small classroom setting, we provide students with a dynamic, holistic learning experience. We are excited to welcome an enthusiastic and experienced Lower Elementary Teacher to our Grade 2/3 classroom and to our vibrant school community. *Overview of Responsibilities:* * Plan and implement engaging lessons that incorporate both Montessori-inspired and traditional teaching methods for a multi-age group of 2nd and 3rd graders, fostering a balanced and dynamic learning experience. * Organize and prepare a child-centered classroom environment that supports exploration, independence, and creativity, using a blend of Montessori materials and traditional resources. * Integrate Montessori principles and positive psychology into lesson planning to meet a wide range of student needs, while ensuring alignment with Ontario Ministry curriculum guidelines. * Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that nurtures independence, curiosity, respect, and a sense of community among students. * Support both academic and social development by using hands-on learning alongside structured guidance, helping students thrive academically and socially. * Apply best practices in assessment, evaluation, and reporting to clearly communicate student progress with parents and school leadership. * Use instructional technologies to enhance the learning experience, and stay current with curriculum developments, resources, and teaching strategies. * Collaborate closely with the Lower School Teaching team to enrich the curriculum and develop creative, cohesive learning plans. * Participate actively in school events and co-curricular activities, including family nights, school concerts, and school clubs, contributing to the vibrant school community. *Qualifications:* * Bachelor?s degree in Education or a related field; Montessori certification (AMS, AMI, or equivalent) preferred * Experience working in a Montessori or blended-approach classroom, ideally with elementary-aged children * Strong understanding of Montessori principles and traditional teaching methods, with a commitment to student-centered learning * Passion for teaching, with creativity and the ability to foster unique learning experiences for students * Excellent communication and organizational skills * Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, parents, and colleagues * Professional, patient, nurturing, and a strong sense of humor, with a love for working with children * Current First Aid and CPR Certification, Valid Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening, and up-to-date Immunization Records *Special Considerations for Candidates with:* * Additional qualification courses or training * Minimum 2 years of classroom teaching experience (preferred) *Key Responsibilities & Hours of Work:* * Organize and tailor learning experiences to meet the needs of both group and individual students * Maintain a well-organized, attractive, and Montessori-consistent classroom * Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and mandatory school events and fundraisers * Conduct parent-teacher interviews and provide formal and informal communication with parents * Write progress reports and report cards * Ensure that health, safety, and Ministry of Education licensing standards are met * *Hours of Work:* Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends for events such as open houses, concerts, family nights/ gatherings, and other school- LocationNiagara Falls, ON
