Job details
Education: College/CEGEP. Work site environment: Outdoors. Work setting: Construction. Various locations. Willing to relocate. Relocation costs not covered by employer. Budgetary responsibility: $100,001 - $500,000. Tasks: Assign projects to subordinates and staff related to work safety, environmental safety and accident prevention.. Direct and control daily operations . Plan and control budget and expenditures. Provide information/training to employers, employees and general public. Review HR directives to assure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations . Train staff. Conduct surveys and monitoring programs of the natural environment. Establish and implement policies and procedures. Inspect spills of hazardous chemicals or products. Inspect workplaces for safety or health hazards. Investigate workplace accidents or illnesses. Manage training and development strategies. Respond to employee questions and complaints. Conduct performance reviews. Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury. Supervision: 5-10 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : First Aid Certificate. Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Computer and technology knowledge: MS Outlook. MS Windows. MS Excel. MS PowerPoint. MS Word. Type of inspection and investigation: Sanitary conditions. Pollution monitoring programs. Hazardous products handling and storage. Workplace. Work related accidents. Area of work experience: Construction site. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination.
