Job details
Freed Object is seeking an experienced and thoughtful Full Stack Developer for a permanent full-time position.
We're looking for someone who is excited to join a _startup-like_ unstructured environment, and who thrives adapting and learning.
The team is small, and we build information systems with complex characteristics such as machine learning, predictive models, graph network analysis, and more.
*Freed Object*
Freed Object is a company that specializes in building custom data-driven information systems, which serve a range of clients and industries. We are a small company based in Brantford, Ontario.
*What you will do*
* Iteratively design, develop and test parts of - as well as complete - technology solutions balancing time constraints and evolving client needs, and managing complexity
* Collaborate with team members and client representatives to ensure solutions meet needs, and to make collective decisions that are both pragmatic and strategic regarding the underlying technologies
* Troubleshoot issues that arise such as bugs in the code, unexpected configurations of data, resource and other limitations reached due to scaling and volume increases, and more
* Deliver solutions that adhere to relevant best practices including considerations for security, stability, maintainability, and more
*What we look for*
* University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or relevant field, or equivalent experience
* Demonstrated experience as a Full Stack Developer
* Experience with a range of technologies especially the Django web framework, the Python programming language, the PostgreSQL RDBMS, and the JavaScript programming language
* Ability to learn and navigate - and to discuss with team members ? new and complex technology topics that may range from selecting and configuring predictive algorithms, to considerations around shared governance of delivered solutions
* Ability to adapt to evolving client needs, changing technology tools and libraries; a technology generalist
* Ability to effectively communicate important information about technology decisions to an audience without a significant background in technology, and to help guide them through their decision-making
