*We are currently seeking a Communications Specialist. *
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Communication Specialist is responsible for developing key communications deliverables, initiatives and activities directly supporting internal and external ONE CARE communications. The incumbent specializes in developing engaging materials for print and web, and supporting various stakeholders through content creation. The incumbent works closely with members of the Management team on the drafting and issuing of timely Agency announcements and Newsletters and various communications for external stakeholders as well as the creation and execution of communications plans that address strategic priorities. The incumbent is responsible for maintenance activities related to media relations, internal communications, and the administration of Agency web properties. The Communications Specialist will be able to innovatively and effectively grow the communities? and stakeholders? awareness of ONE CARE. This role has the ability to be hybrid with the expectation to be able to travel in office for events such as but not limited to in person training, onboarding, equipment pickup, community connections etc. This role is a 12 - 18 month contract.
*Qualifications:*
* 3 to 5 years relevant experience in a communications role, ideally within the not-for-profit or health care sector.
* Exceptional verbal, written and electronic communications skills with proof-reading, editing experience, and marketing.
* Post Secondary degree or diploma in public relations, corporate communications, English or related field.
* Sound working knowledge of social media, particularly in developing interactive, dynamic and creative communications.
* Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and internet content management systems.
* Demonstrated ability to multi task in a fast paced and changing environment while maintaining attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
* Ability to exercise common sense, sound judgement, tact, discretion and diplomacy.
* Valid Driver?s license and proof of insurance.
* Ability to speak French would be considered an asset.
