Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Perform emergency roadside repairs. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Perform preventive maintenance. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Air Brakes Endorsement. Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Type of trucking and equipment: Tow truck. Tractor-trailer. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Criminal record check. Driver's validity licence check. Driving record check (abstract). Drug test. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads. Large workload. Physically demanding. Weight handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Hard hat. Steel-toed safety boots. Tools. Screening questions: Are you available for shift or on-call work?. Are you available for the advertised start date?. Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?. Are you willing to relocate for this position?. Do you have the above-indicated required certifications?. Experience: 1 to less than 7 months.
