The Information Technology Department is looking for a regular full time Senior IT Project Manager. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer. The primary purpose of this role is to lead, oversee and ensure the successful delivery and management of single or multiple IT driven projects. These projects will include digital transformation, core systems replacement and migration to cloud for appropriate solutions. You are expected to provide thought leadership for projects under your management and guidance / leading practices to instill Project Management disciplines within the City. The following are the typical primary responsibilities and activities you will be expected to deliver:Analyze and estimate project proposals to determine time frame, funding and appropriate processes for delivery within the City?s frameworks; Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required activities and tasks; Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle, and confer with project staff to outline a work plan; Establish a work plan and staffing for project activities, iterations or phases, and arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel; Implement a project communication plan; Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure vendors, contractors and third parties are achieving their targeted service levels; Monitor project activities, ensuring the currency, quality and integrity of information, while providing consistency in content and ?look and feel? across the organization; Ensure that project goals are in line with business objectives and are achievable; Assign duties and responsibilities to project personnel and define the scope of their authority; Direct and coordinate the activities of project personnel to ensure that projects progress on schedule and within budget; Guide and coach managers who are in delivery roles; Prepare and review status reports prepared by project personnel, and modify schedules or plans as required; Establish standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation; and Benchmark project management performance continuously to identify the potential for improvements and increase capability in project and portfolio management. Requirements include Bachelor?s or master?s degree in computer science, information systems (or a related field), project management or general business management. Alternatively, equivalent IT experience. A PMP certification, or similar, would be an asset. Proven team building, communication and collaboration skills are essential in this role, along with strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple project components of varying size and complexity. During the recruitment process, applicants will be requested to provide a current Police Information Check (PIC). We offer an attractive remuneration and benefits package for this exempt position, including a compressed work schedule. The salary range is $119,964 - $147,708 annually (2024 rates). Salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity.
