Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work setting: Metal product fabrication industry. Tasks: Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications. Cut, bend, roll, ream, punch, drill, weld or otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products. Lay out, set up and operate one or more light or heavy metalworking machines. Operate presses or other forging machines to perform hot or cold forging to shape or form metal. Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions. Equipment and machinery experience: Lifting device. Overhead crane. Power presses. Punch presses. Saws. Shears. Metal forming or shaping operations experience: Bending. Forming. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Work under pressure. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication. Excellent written communication. Judgement. Organized. Team player. Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years. Health benefits: Dental plan.
