<p>TEMPORARY CHILD AND YOUTH WORKER<p> Full time - 35 Hours per Week - 10 Month Position (1.0 FTE)<p>Effective: Immediately; Duration: December 20, 2024Q ualifications Successful completion of a three-year post secondary child and youth worker diploma program plus a minimum of two years related job experience in child youth work;<p> Good working knowledge of relevant legislation and the developmental needs of children/youth;<p> Strong knowledge of group work practice and the ability to function effectively in group work;<p> Ability to function independently within the framework of a team.<p> Self-starter with strong, organizational skills and the ability to manage caseload duties;<p> Ability to deal with students in a calm, compassionate and professional manner;<p> Ability to maintain discretion with confidential information;<p> Excellent written and oral communication skills. Duties/Responsibilities Participate, as required, in meeting the social, emotional and behavioural objectives for students;<p> Assist in planning social, emotional and behavioral management programs, including participation in the delivery to students;<p> Provide support in collaboration with teachers, parents and other support services;<p> Assist in implementing therapeutic programs to individual and small groups of students;<p> Provide counseling and crisis intervention to individuals and groups;<p> Observe and monitor students behavior and inform teacher/principal of progress;<p> Liaise with parents and community agencies as required through the Principal;<p> Deliver disciplinary measures in accordance with the Code of Behavior and Catholic values;<p> Attend and participate in staff meetings and perform other duties as assigned;<p> Perform other related duties as assigned by the Child and Youth Worker Supervisor.<p>Applications must include: Cover Letter; and<p> Resume.
