<p>Part-Time Temporary Custodian <p>WA Day Elementary School , Fort Macleod <p>Livingstone Range School Division is accepting applications for a Part-Time Temporary Custodian (6 hrs/day) at WA Day Elementary School located in Fort Macleod, AB. Shift is from 4 pm to 10 pm Monday to Friday, with the possibility of more hours in the evening or on weekends based on need. This is a temporary position starts November 18, 2024 and ends November 3, 2025 with the possibility of extension. <p>The applicant must be able to communicate and interact positively with the public, co-workers, staff, and administration to ensure all needs are addressed at the site. <p>Custodial work may include physical demands, e.g., lifting chairs, moving furniture or boxes of materials, cleaning equipment, and climbing stairs/ladders. The daily work routine involves the use of various chemicals.<p>Typical duties of a Custodian include but are not limited to: Cleaning thoroughly all washrooms, fixtures, and partitions<p> Washing of all desks, counters, doors, windows, etc.<p> All dusting in the school<p> Mopping, vacuuming, polishing, and waxing of floors<p> Using and maintaining janitorial equipment <p> Securing of Division buildings<p> Garbage collection and removal<p> Preventative maintenance tightening furniture or changing light bulbs<p> Snow and ice removal from walkwaysThis position will report to the Health and Safety Coordinator, Head Custodian and the School Principal. The ability to work independently and secure the facilities is essential.<p>Requirements <p>Mandatory Qualifications A High School Diploma or equivalentAdditional Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Demonstrated initiative and good judgement<p> Ability to build positive relations with staff that values a team environment<p> Capable of working alone and with minimum supervision<p> Organize work and adjust daily routine, as conditions require<p> Capable of performing routine and repetitive tasks daily<p> Display a good working knowledge of all chemicals/procedures used by caretaking staffFitness and Abilities Able to stand or walk for extended periods<p> Able to lift and carry up to 22 kg independently<p> Able to work in a highly active physical environment<p> Able to work with a variety of chemicalsConditions of Employment A satisfactory police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment.This is a Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 2133 position; therefore, seniority applies.
