_Front Desk Manager _
PURPOSE:
Blackbush at Old Tracadie Harbour is a social enterprise with a gentle footprint. Our eco-resort consists of our hotel, restaurants, and other neighboring properties. As a Front Desk Manager, it is your responsibility to arrange and cater to guest needs.

Blackbush Beach Resort is a year-round experiential vacation and conference property on Prince Edward Island. Nestled in the windswept parabolic dunes of PEI's North Shore community, Blackbush is the only resort to enable the curious, the adventuresome, and the seeker to experience the wildness, power and beauty of the Canadian beach, even in winter.
*REPORTS TO:*
Resort Operations Manager
*Key Responsibilities: *
1. Guest Services:
* Greet guests upon arrival, check them in, and provide assistance throughout their stay.
* Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally.
* Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering personalized service and resolving issues effectively.
*2. Staff Management*:
* Recruit, train, and supervise front desk staff, including receptionists and concierge personnel.
* Schedule shifts, manage payroll, and monitor staff performance to ensure service standards are met.
* Foster a positive work environment, encourage teamwork, and provide guidance and support to staff members.
*3. Operational Oversight:*
* Oversee daily operations of the front desk, including check-ins, check-outs, and cashiering procedures.
* Maintain accurate records of room availability, guest accounts, and financial transactions.
* Coordinate with other departments, such as housekeeping and maintenance, to address guest needs and resolve issues promptly.
*4. Financial Management:*
* Monitor room rates, occupancy levels, and revenue to maximize profitability.
* Implement pricing strategies and promotional activities to drive bookings and revenue growth.
* Control costs and expenses, such as labor and supplies, while maintaining service quality standards.
*5. Quality Assurance: *
* Ensure adherence to hotel policies, procedures, and brand standards.
* Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
* Implement improvements and corrective actions as necessary to enhance the guest experience.
*6. Technology Utilization:*
* Utilize property management systems (PMS) and other software tools effectively to manage reservations, guest information, and billing processes.
* Stay updated on industry trends and technology advancements to enhance efficiency and guest service delivery.
*7. Safety and Security*:
* Implement and enforce safety and security protocols to protect guests, staff, and hotel assets.
* Respond to emergencies, such as medical incidents or security threats, in accordance with established procedures.
*Qualifications: *
* Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred.
* Previous experience in hotel front desk operations, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
* Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
* Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office 365 applications.
* Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
