The District offers its respect to the Knowledge Keepers and all First Peoples who have been on these lands since time immemorial.<p>Salary is based on TQS category and years of experience, ranging from $60,625 - $106,217. <p><p>Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing <p>Competition: T-24-586 <p>Location/Dept.: Inclusive Learning<p> <p>FTE 0.50<p> <p>Start Date: As soon as possible<p> <p>Term of Employment: Continuing<p> <p>Posted: November 12, 2024 <p>Application Deadline: 12:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 19, 2024 <p><p>Teacher of Students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing<p><p> The Teacher of Students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing uses strength-based and trauma informed approaches and a universal design framework to support elementary and secondary classroom teachers and support staff working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing.<p><p>The Teacher of Students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing collaborates with classroom teachers to support student success in the classroom environment including providing access to specialized equipment. This teacher provides individualized instruction in areas such as social skill development, listening skills and various communication skills. Additionally, based on the students? individual strengths and stretches, provides individualized opportunities for students to develop the core competencies.<p><p>The Teacher of Students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing acts as case manager, developing and implementing education plans such as Individual Education Plans and Positive Behaviour Support Plans. This teacher enables students access to prevention and intervention related supports and services as per students social, emotional, physical, mental well-being.
