Valley Art Therapy Ltd. is currently hiring an art therapist to join our team to provide in-person services for individual and group therapy (children, adolescents, families) at Valley Art Therapy?s Birtle office, Russell office, and/or at our in-community locations. Start Date: As negotiated Position: Contractor or Employee options Hours: Full- or Part-Time, Minimum of 10 hours/week required Salary: Based on training and experience Qualifications * Post-Secondary education in counselling, social work, or related field (Master?s degree preferred) * Successful experience in the field * Knowledge and skills to deliver therapy/counselling services * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Requirements * Professional membership in good standing and current liability insurance * Experience working with children, adolescents, and families * Experience with assessing clients? needs and clinical report writing * Knowledgeable in the areas of trauma, attachment, Polyvagal Theory, anti-oppressive practices * Interest in pursuing further training in play therapy, EMDR, IFS, and/or Somatic Experiencing * Successful criminal record check and vulnerable sector verification Duties include: * Providing art therapy services to children, youth, and families around a variety of issues including: anxiety, depression, trauma, divorce/separation, grief & loss * Practicing trauma-informed and culturally sensitive approaches * Conducting consultation calls and intake sessions * Developing treatment plans to guide effective client care * Maintaining detailed case notes and client records using Jane.app EHR system * Maintaining positive communication with case managers and agency workers This position may be for you if you are? * skilled and experienced in working with children, adolescents, and families * specializing in trauma work * eager to join a collaborative and supportive team * wanting to enjoy working and living in beautiful rural Western Manitoba * wanting to create a work schedule that supports life balance Think you are a right fit for this position, but don't yet have all the requirements and training? Our team consists of Canadian Certified Counsellors, art therapists, counsellors, coaches, practicum students and interns. Our Valley Art Therapy office is located in Birtle, Manitoba, with office spaces in Russell and Swan River.
