Roadtrek Inc, is a Canadian Manufacturer of Class B (Campervan) motorhomes, headquartered in Cambridge, Ontario. We are dedicated to creating adventure vehicles that inspire people to get out, be active and explore the outdoors. We are looking for someone to join our team as a Plant Controller. We?re home to two iconic brands?*Roadtrek* and *Westfalia*?with a focus on delivering exceptional adventure vehicles across North America. Our Plant Controller will require strong leadership qualities, superior communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
*About the Role*
The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, expertise in accounting systems and focus on operational finance. This role is suited for those who have spent a minimum of five years in a similar role within a manufacturing environment. Having attained a bachelor?s degree in accounting or finance is required coupled with additional credentials such as a CPA, CMA or MBA. This role will report to the Head of our Finance Department.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Overseeing financial operations at the plant level, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
* Collaborating with plant management to analyze and optimize manufacturing processes, identify cost-reduction opportunities, and enhance profitability
* Managing the preparation and dissemination of plant-level financial statements
* Manage month-end closing and prepare monthly financial statements and other
* operational reports for site
* Conducting comprehensive analysis of production costs, material consumption, and inventory levels
* Prepare forecasts of income statement, balance sheets, and statement of cash
* flows for the Plant
* Collaborates with CEO and senior management to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations and lead the development of complex analysis
* Estimate product costs to support quoting activities
* Facilitating and supporting internal and external audits
* Ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal regulations as well as adherence to corporate policies
* Assessing risks associated with plant operations and implementing appropriate risk-mitigation strategies
*Experience/Skills/Specific Knowledge/Education:*
* At least 5 years? experience in a similar position
* Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projection
* Possess a solid understanding of all of the financial and operating aspects/measurements of the manufacturing areas of responsibilityCost accounting experience
* Demonstrated expertise in MS Office
* Strong analytical skills.
* Strong attention to detail with consistent accuracy
* Experience in handling multiple concurrent tasks and meeting strict deadlines
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
* Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries from the business.
* Strong written / verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
* Strong decision making and problem-solving skills with practical judgment and realistic understanding of the issues involved. Demonstrate strong and pragmatic business acumen.
* Experience with D365, or other ERP system is preferred
* Must be a team player and act cooperatively with the business.
* Ability to lead and motivate teams to reach a common goal.
* Bachelor?s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
