A Draftsperson will be responsible for completing accurate working drawings on time; this includes preparing plans; creating new models and elevations. Preparing design sketches for clients as needed. A Draftsperson coordinates with roof, floor joist designers/suppliers to adjust grades per the plot plan provided and will submit for Architectural Approval and coordinate with the architectural agent.
*Responsibilities*
· Design and prepare working drawings or Master Plans for new home models, and update the design of existing models with an emphasis on value engineering
· Operated computer-assisted design software to produce designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets, and other data
· Maintain existing models to comply with new software releases and changes to specs and errors or omissions
· Prepare or provide floor plans and information to Marketing to develop sales brochures.
· Coordinate with floor and roof truss suppliers, fabrication plant, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical trades, and affected departments for feedback on design and construction issues
· Ensure design meets or exceeds the building code requirements
· Modify Master Plans into job-specific production drawings on time based on the purchase agreement
· Communicate and coordinate information with the Sales, Estimating, and Construction departments and external Consultants and Agents
· Interpret information in the sales contract, recognize errors, omissions and deficiencies and pursue further clarification
· Attend meetings and training as required
· Work with team leads, managers are required to solve issues
· Other tasks assigned to you by your manager
*Education and Experience*
· Architectural Technology Diploma or Architectural Degree
· A minimum of 1 ? 5 years of *residential drafting* experience
· Working experience with REVIT is required
· Knowledge of other 3D modeling software is an asset
· Experience in designing single-family and/or multi-family projects
· Knowledge of new home construction with an understanding of the fundamentals of residential wood frame construction practices, techniques, and conventions
· Familiarity with building codes
· Experience with Microsoft Office, Windows
· Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
· Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
· Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
